rest.....

we are going to continue to work to be a family that gives and looks for opportunties to bless others in small ways but with the exception of something we feel is just a WOW moment we will probably not post much here....we'll see....do not want it to be a situation where we feel like we have to post but follow Him as the He leads each of us to share...

bless others...

used a couple of lincoln's to bless a teacher at school who had some thieves come up to her in a parking garage that took her purse then a few days later knowing the information included burglarized the residence....taking up funds to help and this giver was able to be a blessing...

Toys for Tots...

going into Wal-Mart two service men were outside collecting for Toys for Tots...one of the givers went inside and used the lincoln to pick up a toy to drop in the collection box....thanks to our men and women that serve our country for all they do and thanks for blessing a child with a new toy this holiday season...

err on the side of generosity...

do we have to think about blessing others? we have been a little lax here in giving and posting how we are blessing others....I need to be more intentional and let my family know what I am doing...seat an example and encourage them to use those lincoln's...if we have to think about it, we should probably do it...when we stop to consider what we need to do we should be more generous...if there is an error in our ways let it be that we were more generous without thought that we wish we would of done more because we did....be a blessing....

err on the side of generosity is copied from the swerve.lifechurch.tv blog this week...one of the points made in the post about 40 things I wish someone had told me when I was 20...

Quick! Name three things you’re thankful for.....

This Thursday is Thanksgiving Day, and most of us will pause and give thanks for our blessings. But what about the other 364 days of the year? Try this: every morning say, out loud, three things you’re thankful for. I mean it. Even if you’re having a really rough time in your life. If you think about it, there are always things to be grateful for. Your husband. Your wife. Your children. Your health. Your faith. The roof over your head. The dollar in your pocket. Get in the habit of giving thanks... not just on Thanksgiving... but every day.

is blessback contagious?

was reading this morning about the many blessings an individual had received and he spoke of contagious generosity!...he had received much but it prompted him to give and to want to give more...what an awesome thought!...contagious generosity!...when we give do we want to offer greater blessings?...more blessings?...creative blessings?...does it prompt those we are able to bless to have a desire to give and bless others?...lets blessback even more...is it contagious!...did you catch it?...did the one who is blessed catch it?...is it contagious?...I hope so...contagious generiosity!...let's all catch it and keep on blessing back then believing it will pay forward...

be generous because......

1. Your heavenly Father is generous
2. It's more blessed to give than receive
3. You could be the answer to somebody's prayer
4. God will bless you
5. It's the biblical thing to do
6. It advances the Kingdom of God
7. It provides for those who are less fortunate
8. It destroys greed and materialism

thanks for moving me......

gave away a couple of lincolns to two separate shuttle bus drivers at the airport.....it is important to tip well (I am not saying overdo it or give everything away)....but especially when we go to eat at restaurant, be a good tipper.....Jesus would....it probably isn't the servers fault if your food wasn't right and if the service isn't what you expected, maybe your server is doing the best he can with the gifts he has been given......be generous!.....show love!.....be a blessing!.....smile!.... say thank you!..... show honor and repect to those you come in contact with.....

printer paper...what!....

our OU daughter is buying a package of printer paper and leaving it in the computer room at her apartment for others to use.....thoughtful and giving....you are a blessing!.....

brownies....yum.....

Rachel picked up some brownies and a big Dr Pepper at the store...went home and made them for a friend who wasn't having the best week......

lunch for a friend.....

Seth used his lincoln and bought lunch for a friend that did not have any money at the time......

offering.....

Kramer dropped his in the plate at Woodlake Assembly yesterday.....I am reminded of the story as the offering plate is passed of the little boy who stepped into the offering plate and was asked why, he said, "that is all I have to give"....Jesus probably clearly said, "young man, that is what I want"....it is pretty easy to give money but truly giving of ourselves, wow!...that is a different story....hopefully that is where we are all headed in our little project here in that we will be willing to give more and more but in reality be willing to give all of ourselves...what does that mean?....being like Jesus in all we do...remember real ministry can be messy and that is where Jesus was....am I willing?....thank you Kramer for reminding me of this.....

donut blesser...

another blesser picked up a dozen donuts took them to work...dropped them on the table and they were enjoyed.....

Susie and Starbucks.....

Susie was going through the drive thru at Starbucks this morning and felt led to take care of the young lady behind her.....wow!...wouldn't that be cool to receive...what did she think?...blessed I hope...it is an honor to share and bless others......

Rache says....we need to be givers and receivers.....

A couple of days ago Rachel tried to hand some one she felt led to give a paper Lincoln to and they would not receive or accept it from her.....one thing we need to remember is that in addition to being generous givers it is important that we be receivers when the opportunity is in front of us....how can we give someone the privilege of being a blessing if we are unwilling to accept their gift.....have a greatful heart! and say thank you!...one thing we could do in this instance would be to simply if you do not want to accept it please pass it along to someone else...'pay it forward'...thanks Rachel! continue to seek opportunities to give to others....

blessback...why?

I pray that each of us truly get the vision that the Lord has placed in my heart...I have been following Elevation Church (http://www.elevationchurch.org/) in Charlotte, NC for a year or so and a week ago they began a capital campaign and a new series titled Dominate, with the intention to dominate Charlotte with their vision, "So that people far from God will be filled with life in Christ."...therefore they decided to give away $40,000 (their average offering each week) to their congregation in envelopes in amounts of $5, $10, $20, $50, or even $100...1 envelope in each experience contained $1000...they did not take an offering this week...the instruction to each and every individual (children included) in attendance was to take an envelope and bless someone with the enclosed money...they were not allowed to use the money on themselves nor could they give it back to the church...they were then asked to share their experiences at http://www.blessbackproject.com/ ....you can read the stories there....

...anyway this got me to thinking about my own family and how blessed we are...I asked Susie what she thought about giving each of our 6 children (we are both doing this as well) $5 each week to use to bless someone in some way...she said, "wonderful, go for it"...we hope to all be creative and think about what we each can do....then share those stories here of what we do with the $5 the Lord has entrusted to us to bless others in His name...let the fun begin...my prayer is that each of us would catch a glimpse of how generous and loving the Lord desires for us to be.....how He wants us to genuinely be a blessing to others...not only with money but with our time, our hearts, our words, our deeds, etc....I pray we will be bold and not step back but go forward when the Lord prompts us to share...looking for all of us to continually think of and be reminded of opportunities that we have to be a blessing...who knows, maybe our children or even their parents (my wife and I) will add to their weekly blessing dollars and give even more...I am excited to see what will transpire in each of our hearts...I am interested to see what each of them hear when asked why and they simply say we want to bless you because Jesus has blessed us...We started last night by giving my 17 year old his $5, he left early this morning on a 5 day trip with the school...What will he do?..Who will my college kids bless?..I handed one of my college age girls her $5 this evening...what will she do?..who will my 20 year old bless?..my 16 year old?..each of us?
